AJ Nicholson’s Ignorance…..

From high telephone bills to crass comments and bashing their colleagues, these government ministers and their gimmicks never cease to amaze me. In last week’s news, it was brought to our attention that senior politician AJ Nicholson passed a ludicrous and irrelevant ‘flexi-rape’ remark when the flexi-work week bill was being discussed in Senate. Then had the audacity to state that it was a mere joke! Really AJ Nicholson? How does one make a joke out of a serious matter? This just goes to show the level of immaturity of Jamaica’s leaders.

Less than two weeks shy of Louis Farrakhan’s address at the Million Man March where he urged persons to show greater respect to the nation’s women, it is indeed sad that Nicholson has made such a statement. While rape in Jamaica isn’t a new phenomenon, we must allow our senses to guide us accordingly and view rape as a serious and unacceptable act.

A.J. Nicholson, it is easy for you to make a crude comment and then apologize but have you no respect for women who have been raped and as a result are facing serious psychological trauma?

It is best to be ignorant and keep your mouth closed than to speak and remove all doubt. What is flexi-rape? I suggest if you have nothing good to say, keep your damn mouth shut you ignorant fool.
