Recently, I attended a popular social event and to my surprise, there was a young lady who recently gave birth bubbling wildly to the intoxicating sounds of dancehall icon, Konshens as she puffed her cigar. I was really not amused at this sight as I’m of the old school belief that once you’ve given birth, you should retire from nightlife scenes for a while and neither should you be smoking. It was then that I was inspired to hit out at all the careless baby mothers.

Now yuh have some gal weh call dem self baby mother but the only reason people know they’re mothers is because they were seen carrying a big bulge for 9 months. Besides that, they have no clue what it is to play a motherly role in their child’s life. Children didn’t ask to come into the world and the fact that you’ve given birth is an indicator that your life has changed forever, sweetie fyi motherhood is a full time job and you can’t expect things to be the same as it was before. So if you’re not mentally, physically, financially (and all the other ally’s) ready for motherhood, kindly do the world a favor & avoid getting pregnant. This is the 21st century, contraceptives are prevalent.

1. Dear mothers, its important to note that children live what they learn. Soh if unu change man like how standard vehicle change gear, chances are your daughter will grow up doing the same thing. If you constantly smoke and/or drink in front of your child, chances are the child will turn out to be just like you. 4. Then they’re those women who believe that when men impregnate them it means ’til death do us part’ or its the solution to all their man problems and the key to a perfect family life. The minute you realize you’re pregnant, start making preparations for your child and don’t wait on the father to do so.
