The world is filled with sex, its everywhere; in books, on TV commercials, in music videos and on radio etc. The bedroom has become a ‘Romping Shop’ and the act of sex has been transformed into a theatrical performance where men and women have become actors and actresses; lovemaking is now about who can give the best performance and get a standing ovation at the end of the scene. Some people would say that sex is overrated and that the participants are putting too much pressure on themselves to deliver. Women put pressure on men to perform, and men put pressure on themselves to perform, and so the cycle continues. Men continue to brag about being long distance ‘stullas’ and bedroom bullies and women are forced to become ‘masters-of-time’ by transforming their bodies into all sorts of clock positions, like 6:30 etc.

Sadly, the reason most relationships fail is that sex is the only important aspect of the relationship. In essence, more emphasis is attached to the passion component than to the commitment and intimacy aspects. A relationship that is driven solely on the sexual plane will eventually disintegrate.

Sex shouldn’t be endured, sex should be enjoyed with one whom you love dearly and share a sense of emotional attachment. Sex is sacred, sex shouldn’t be taken lightly. Instead of hunting all kinds of penises and vaginas, men and women should spend adequate time nurturing what they’ve already secured. Rather than fooling around and hunting left, right and center, men & women should seize the opportunity to discuss with their spouse what he/she wants to do and try. Once both spouses are comfortable with the suggestion, then give it a try.

Don’t preoccupy yourselves with your partner’s sexual history, but focus on how best you both can respond to each other’s needs, sexually and otherwise. What matters now is the quality of the relationship that you are both working on. Sexual compatibility comes with time, so don’t get overly concerned with performance as anxiety is a deterrent to a functional sex life. Instead, maintain an open and frank communication with your spouse and teach each other about what works and what does not.

I am Laydee Sharmz saying ‘intimacy is not purely physical; it is the act of connecting with someone so deeply that you feel like you can see into their soul’.
