To the ‘Licky Licky’ Girls

I’ve always had a problem with females who permanently reside in a man’s pocket. I strongly believe that a woman should set priorities/goals for herself and strive to achieve these by a certain age. One such goal is to find a job to take care of yourself and not depend on a man to finance all your needs. Mind you, nothing is wrong with a man treating his girl and his girl returning the favor. The problem lies when a female makes it her point of duty to be a living parasite to the man by pressuring his pocket. While society teaches us that the man should be the sole breadwinner, women ought to step up and support the man.

Now there’s a particular set of females who are very ‘licky licky’ (according to Jamaicans). Normally these are the unemployed females who want to live lavishly; therefore, they resort to their male counterparts to support this lifestyle. My advice to men, if you detect this is the type of female you’ll be getting involved with (unless you don’t have a problem working your ass off to support her flashy lifestyle) desist from entering a relationship.

Then there’s another group of females who weren’t accustomed to a the finer things in life until the Lord blessed them with a man from society’s higher caliber. You find that these females who were once so simple and humble, all of a sudden turn into cocky ‘uptowners’. These females amuse me with their antics, smh. Never si come si yet, nothing nuh frighten me! Anything they’re doing, I’ve done already. With all the fancy clothes, plane rides & hotel vacations etc. remember to stay humble as its easy to fall from the top of the ladder. Keep in mind, you’re living on your man’s pocket & its easy for him to dump you at anytime.

And finally, ladies its important to note that there’s more to life than material things. While we all desire the finer things in life, its best to set aside funds for ‘rainy days’. So while many of you are harvesting your companions finances, it would be wise if you invested some of this money; buy some stocks/shares in financial institutions, get into real estate, consider furthering your education or start a business etc. Men come and they go, so don’t live in the moment but invest for the future should he decide to leave you.

Nothing is better than a woman who works for her own. That’s what it means to be independent. Some of you females boasting about independent need to revisit the dictionary. Until you can afford your own plane ticket, take yourself on a shopping spree, pay your restaurant bill, pay your rent, buy a car or even a pack of contraceptives….keep calm and go search for a job.
