Triple Century Waitress to be ‘Bowled Out’ of Business

A friend of mine usually says if a business fails to offer good customer service, he simply stops supporting the business. After my horrific experience with an uncouth waitress at Triple Century Sports Bar on the night of Friday, October 31 I have decided to use my friend’s piece of advice.
My birthday was going well until I decided to spend the last few hours as well as my hard earned money at Chris Gayle’s popular eatery. All dolled up, I stepped into the restaurant and was greeted by a rather tired looking waitress (mind you it was Halloween night and her drab costume only accentuated her obvious state of depression). Right there I knew this was going to be a bad night! She asked us if we were dining or using the bar to which my friend responded ‘table for two’. Having escorted us to the table, she proceeded to throw the menus on the table instead of properly placing them in front of us and then walked away.
Fifteen minutes had passed and she returned to take our orders. I requested an oxtail quesadilla with a serving of plantain & garden salad as sides. The waitress then informed me that a salad accompanies the quesadilla. However, when the meal was served it turned out that the her interpretation of a garden salad was a plate of stale cut lettuce leaves. I wasn’t amused.
When it was time for drinks, a bottle of Heineken turned up on the table which neither of us had ordered. When questioned why a bottle of Heineken came, the rude woman responded with a nasty attiude ‘unu haffi guh pay fi it cau it open already’. Without hesitation, I insisted that the drink would be paid for but I no longer wanted the slice of cheesecake ordered earlier. The waitress then hissed her teeth and walked away.
Dinner was finished and all I wanted was for her to bring the bill so I could leave. She returned about ten minutes after clearing the table, slapped the bill on the table and simply wheeled her meager baxside down the stairs. I was at a loss for words, this woman was definitely not working for a tip. My friend beckoned to her with a credit card indicating that she should bring the machine. Card swiped, receipt signed & we left.
Not only was the customer service poor but the food was awful and was an epic waste of almost $4000 in total. I strongly suggest that HR conducts in depth training sessions with their workers before putting them on front line. Tiredness is absolutely no excuse to be rude, you’re being paid to do your job so provide service with a smile 🙂 Da waitress gal deh fi get bowl out of di hospitality business!
